ABOUT THE rivers project:
The Rivers Project is a series of artworks, writings, and discussions based on themes of rivers, water, and nature. While I have a website covering all of my art practice here, I felt I needed a site dedicated to The Rivers Project, it's grown and developed so much. The ideas in The Rivers Project (TRP) are based on various physical geography themes, understanding of rivers and water, and how those impact on our lives. My aim with the works is one of wanting to spend more time outdoors and I wish to bring to attention the essential watery topics, as water is unthinkable to be without and often is so much abused and taken for granted.
The first ideas and research done towards the project was back in 2013/2014 while I worked on Mountain Lakes Series of drawings with abalone shells. But only as I started my MA Art and Science at CSM in 2015, I realized how much my interest in rivers has grown, and TRP was named. Each post on this website is about one aspect of my work in the project. I'll include relevant events, new works in progress and inspirations which help me to develop my practice. I welcome comments and any feedback. Thank you for your time, and I hope you'll enjoy coming back to any of my websites!
